While I miss Gourmet like a limb, the obvious substitution for me will clearly be Saveur. I haven’t even opened the two issues of Bon Appetit they sent me – just not interested. I bought the Saveur 100 issue to read on a plane last week and have barely dug in yet – it’s already deliciously fun. I’ll probably subscribe once we’re settled (and I’m again surrounded by my beloved kitchen items that are already packed up in moving boxes).

Oh Jessie, you MUST! It’s just tremendous. Go ahead and buy the soundtrack on iTunes – it’s been playing nonstop in our place since we saw the film. And that single… oh my gosh. Ryan Bingham is only 28 years old too. Ridiculous talent.

I understand the ipod acceptance…. but giving up real, hold in your hands, curl up with books?
I’m not sure I can, or want to. But I must say I love the blessed escape of fiction – not as a steady diet mind you – just part of the healthy variety we naturally crave.
